Gum

I hate gum.  Hate it.  Hate it.  Hate!

And  this is why:

Let’s say you offer me a piece of gum, and for some strange reason I take you up on it.  I take it out of the wrapper, toss it in my mouth, and throw the wrapper out.  First few minutes - awesome.  Good taste, nice and juicy; just what I wanted.  Hell, maybe I’ll blow a bubble or two while I’m at it.

IDK

Fail-blog text messages amuse me.  I don’t care if they’re fake, or if they’re going out of style.  I read a “top 25” set at the beginning of the year that by the end of them I was laughing so hard I was crying and I couldn’t even read them out loud anymore.

My most recent favorite goes something like this:

- Hey, do you know what IDK means?
- I don’t know.
- Ug!  No one knows!

Days later, it still tickles me.  In fact, I want to simulate that same conversation with an unsuspecting participant.

It hasn’t going my way.  By the time I decided to, I’d already told the story to most of my fiends.  The first person I tried it on went like this:

Out of the Game

Let’s go back to 2003.  Warcraft 3 had just come out for the PC.  I chewed through that game in no time.  But then a funny thing happened.  In the middle of watching the introduction video to the expansion, it occurred to me that I had never started, much less beaten, the expansion for Warcraft 2, which I owned.  I thought to myself, “I should play that before I consider playing the expansion to Warcraft 3.  In fact, I probably shouldn’t even have played Warcraft 3 to begin with.”

Monthly Scoop: January 2012

Everyone’s putting out their “Look Back at 2011” lists.  Not me.  Not this guy.  I’m not falling into that cliché!

However, I will do the Monthly Scoop, because that’s what we do here at the JonnyD Weekly.

A lot’s going on, and its all centralized around Stranger Things Studios lately.

Thanks to a lot of generous Christmas presents, and gift cards from some close friends saying “put this towards your movie making,” as well as some of my own spending from my holiday money, Stranger Things Studios is now sitting on a big, warm, steamy pile of potential.

STS: The NERFessional

A poor, unassuming plastic Dinosaur suffers an unsolicited from an Amish-looking man with briefcase.

This is officially the third movie put out by Stranger Things Studios.

Director’s Notes:

10 minutes to conceptualize.  1 hour to film.  2 hours of editing.  By far the fastest turn around I’ve had on a movie yet.

And it cost me nothing to shoot it!
